The National Immigrant Justice Center's Asylum Project is the largest legal service providers for asylum representation in the Midwest, ensuring hundreds of low-income adults, children, and families have access to pro bono representation each year as they seek asylum before the Chicago Immigration Court and Chicago Asylum Office. Most asylum seekers who receive legal services through the Asylum Project are represented by pro bono attorneys from area law firms who are trained and supported by Asylum Project staff. The Asylum Coordinator will provide know your rights to Ms. L class members, coordinate clinics, and be the initial and ongoing point-of-contact for individuals seeking asylum in this class. The coordinator may conduct and coordinate asylum intakes; prepare asylum cases in conjunction with project staff; support pro bono attorneys handling asylum matters; and assist with the development of asylum pro bono materials and trainings. Individual accountabilities and work volume will be established through the development of annual Success Objectives, within the framework outlined below.
