• Sawyer Certification.
• Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, Power Point

Duties :

Work alongside Forest Service staff to implement the Saw program to build capacity for sawyers through partnerships. Effectively use chainsaw and cross-cut saw as a C-Sawyer evaluator and possess the knowledge to train and evaluate sawyers.

Coordinate information regarding partnership development, trail clearing, and any other conservation-related projects.

• Ability to operate a chain saw in conservation projects. 25%
• Ability to teach proper use of chainsaw techniques. 25%
• Ability to evaluate skill level of sawyers. 25%

Other :

• C-Sawyer Certification OR B-Sawyer Certification with a Designation Letter.
• Travel Requirements : Travel to trainings and saw program meetings throughout Region 2.
• Overnight travel : 0-10 days per month.
• Health and Safety Considerations : Up to date certification in accordance with the Saw Policy, First aid / CPR certification.

Additional training will be provided if needed.

• Required Safety Gear : All of the above as required by Saw Policy and risk assessment.
• Safety Gear Use : Appropriate weather conditions in an outdoor environment. Group setting in a National Forest during all saw operations.
• Physical requirements : Ability to hike to cut sites and operate a chain saw. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
• Remote work arrangements are available for this position.
