Position Summary

The Health Programs Coordinator is a full-time position, reporting to the Senior Director of Health and Wellness. The position will support and engage in outreach, education, and advocacy activities pertaining to NDSS’ health programs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities


To perform in this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

  • Engages community groups, community leaders, subject matter experts, and partner organizations to advance NDSS’ priorities in health and wellness.
  • Creates parent and caregiver resources, to improve the understanding of health and wellness topics, which are based on recent and current scientific health research
  • Support dissemination of health and wellness programs and resources to affiliates, partners, and external organizations.
  • Supports the implementation of program plans and evaluates outcomes
  • Participates in program development and funding opportunities
  • Monitors progress of funded projects and ensure appropriate documentation and status reporting
  • Interacts with external stakeholders, including donors and partners build relationships for programming and development opportunities
  • Works closely with the communications team to create web and social media content related to the health and wellness program that is relevant, current, and accurate
  • Works with the development team to identify sponsorship opportunities and other sources of revenue to support NDSS’ health programs
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related area
  • Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining relationships with individuals and organizations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to maintain regular and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Comfort with public speaking and constituent outreach
  • Proven ability to interact effectively and communicate well
  • Energetic with the ability to multitask
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong willingness to initiate deadlines and time frames for assignments and to follow up on all delegated activities
