National Dentex is Hiring a Dental Lab Technician I-II (Dentures) Near Rochester, MI

Our team is growing, and we are hiring at NDX Davis Dental Lab in Wyoming, MI for a Dental Laboratory Technician I-II (Dentures).

The regular hours for this position are from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and subject to change from time to time.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Read prescriptions and specifications received from dentist.
  • Check models for defect that need correcting before fabrication begins
  • Check articulation of models for proper occlusal relationship
  • Post dam upper models
  • Set pin on articulator to establish vertical relationship
  • Double check teeth to be used for correct mold and shade
  • Place wax on baseplate and set teeth on the arch in proper alignment to achieve proper function and good aesthetics. If setting for wax try-in, soak model in water before set-up. Check occlusion to be sure correct bite relationship has been achieved
  • All other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Excellent eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity
  • Detail oriented

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Required for DLT I, II, III: High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • DLT I: No experience required
  • DLT II: Must have 12 months of experience as a Dental Laboratory Technician and is skilled in one or more of the tasks associated with a Dental Laboratory Technician.
  • DLT III: This technician has a minimum of 5 years of experience and is skilled in one or more of the skills associated with a Dental Laboratory Technician.

Hazardous Materials or Equipment Used:

  • Small machinery
  • Hand-pieces
  • Chemicals

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Required to sit, stand, walk, and/or reach.
  • Exhibit fine motor skills and/or perform repetitive motions.
  • Read and interpret prescriptions and other required documentation.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information.
  • Vision capabilities: depth perception, attention to detail, and/or color.
