The regular hours for this position are from 7 : 00 AM to 4 : 00 PM, Monday through Friday, and subject to change from time to time.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position :

• Read prescriptions and specifications received from dentist.
• Check models for defect that need correcting before fabrication begins
• Check articulation of models for proper occlusal relationship
• Post dam upper models
• Set pin on articulator to establish vertical relationship
• Double check teeth to be used for correct mold and shade
• Place wax on baseplate and set teeth on the arch in proper alignment to achieve proper function and good aesthetics. If setting for wax try-in, soak model in water before set-up.

Check occlusion to be sure correct bite relationship has been achieved

All other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities Required :

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
• Excellent eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity
• Detail oriented

Minimum Education and Experience Required :

• Required for DLT I, II, III : High school diploma or GED equivalent
• DLT I : No experience required
• DLT II : Must have 12 months of experience as a Dental Laboratory Technician and is skilled in one or more of the tasks associated with a Dental Laboratory Technician.
• DLT III : This technician has a minimum of 5 years of experience and is skilled in one or more of the skills associated with a Dental Laboratory Technician.

Hazardous Materials or Equipment Used :

• Small machinery
• Hand-pieces
• Chemicals

Physical Requirements :

• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
• Required to sit, stand, walk, and / or reach.
• Exhibit fine motor skills and / or perform repetitive motions.
• Read and interpret prescriptions and other required documentation.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical information.
• Vision capabilities : depth perception, attention to detail, and / or color.
