National Band & Tag company is a 122 year old family owned and operated manufacturer. We make identification products for the pet, research, conservation, automotive, industrial, medical fields and more.

We are a mechanical shop and have a full Tool Room in-house where parts and dies are made, repaired and refinished. We are looking for someone to produce and finish different applicators that we make custom sized to our products. With in-house training, job stability and great benefits, all you need to bring to the table is mechanical aptitude and a good work ethic.

I. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Grind, sand, drill and finish all sizes of applicators for different product lines such as butt-end bird bands, wing bands, etc.

II. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Produce good quality, correctly sized applicators that function with each product line
• Follow verbal and written instructions to make standardized parts
• Safely use drill presses, belt sanders, grinders, mills, etc independently without supervision or direction
• Ability to recreate or repeat the same process on large part orders to produce matching parts
• Maintain NB&T production standards, following quality control measures throughout the manufacturing and finishing processes
• Work according to the production schedule and management request to ensure parts are shipped on time
• Keep a clean and organized work station, issue order reminders to management when stock is low, make sure all equipment is maintained in good working order
• Be a good team player, working alongside tool & die makers and maintenance technicians in the Tool Room

III. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Strong mechanical aptitude, basic math and measuring skills, accurate use of precision measuring instruments
• Requires a very high degree of precision, attention to detail, and quality control
• Excellent eye sight is required
• High degree of attention and care required to prevent injury to self and others when operating machine tools
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
