Recovery Addiction Editor - Position Overview

RESPONSIBILITIES

The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating across the National Addiction Awareness Complex (NAAC) leadership team to develop the template, structure, and outline of a monthly newsletter, which may include sections related to:

• Addiction/recovery trends & topics
• Updates on NAAC fundraising progress & planning/building progress
• Share information on sober-lifestyle events
• Highlight open positions (contract / volunteer) at the NAAC or other ways to get involved
• Feature upcoming events hosted by the NAAC
• Other items as determined by the team
• Provide original content and collect information from the NAAC team for the circulation of the Newsletter on a monthly basis.
• Write original content for insertion in the newsletter on topics related to addiction, recovery, or other related topics
• Work with members of the NAAC team (CEO, COO, graphic designer, web developer, financial controller, ambassadors, and others as needed) to collect relevant information for insertion into the newsletter
• Conduct research on addiction related topics and trends, social events related to recovery, and other potential areas of interest related to the NAAC for inclusion in the Newsletter
• Familiarize self with Mailchimp platform and work with COO on distribution of NAAC Newsletter to NAAC subscribers

Candidate may be asked to develop marketing content that can be used in emails, social media, or in any marketing form. This could include, but is not limited to:

• Single page marketing flier for distribution
• Social media posts
• Blog / written content
• Material for an event
• Website landing page content
• Or other marketing medias as needed

Candidates will need to live within a reasonable commute to our planning office in Denver, PA even though most of the work will be done at your own home office.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience as a marketing professional and email marketing specifically.
• Previous use of an email & SMS marketing platform a plus (we currently use Mailchimp)
• Degree in business, marketing, or other related field a bonus (experience trumps degree)
• Familiarity with addiction and recovery processes & terminology.
• If you are in addiction recovery yourself, we require a minimum of 3 years of continuous sobriety.
• As our ideal candidate, you need a passion for addiction awareness.
• Would be working from their own home office and must be comfortable with Zoom Business Meetings
• Candidates needs to be able to commute to our Denver PA office, as needed.
• Candidate Needs to be Fully Alcohol Free, Drug Free, and Nicotine Free

We are entrepreneurial-spirited individuals who have come together to address the impact of addiction in all its various forms by sharing our life & work experience, education, and fellowship.

As a startup team member, we are offering Fundraising Based Compensation as a Contractor for this opportunity. Compensation will be fully explained during the interview process. As a contractor, you will need to be financially stable to participate with us as a startup team member.

6. Whether you are able to make meetings at our planning office in Denver, PA as required to fulfill the fundraising director position requirements.
