Compensation: Starting at $20.00/hour (depending on experience)

Job Summary:

The NAC is seeking a passionate and experienced water sports professional to join our Recreation and Adventure team. The Recreation and Adventure department consists of a large and dynamic team that works together to provide a variety of different programs which includes adaptive water skiing, wake boarding and wake surfing at the Jordanelle Reservoir. Water sports programs are offered to both individuals and groups who may be participating one time or returning on a weekly, monthly, or annual basis. Our boat drivers are responsible for driving our program boat and/or jet-skis during water sports programs, supporting with instruction and spotting when not driving, trailering the boat and/or jet-skis, program delivery, excellent customer service, and post program wrap up of our water sports programs. This is a seasonal position for the summer with the approximate time period of mid-May 2024 through the end of September 2024. The boating schedule is Monday-Friday and hours are based on registrations. Staff days of work are set at the beginning of the season.

Essential Duties:

· Delivers premier recreational and adventure programing to participants of all abilities through safe and effective boat or jet-ski driving, adjusting driving techniques as needed for water-skiing, wake surfing, and wakeboarding.

· Maintains a high level of risk management and follow safe boating practices at all times. 

· Works cohesively on a team with other staff, interns, and volunteers.

· Drives a rescue jet-ski as needed on adaptive water-ski lessons.

· Trailers and launches the boat and/or jet-skis to and from the storage location, pre and post programs.

· Provides quality instruction to adaptive water skiers, wake surfers, and wake boarders.

· Maintains boat and jet skis in clean and working order, including checking oil and filling with gas.

· Conducts pre and post program boat and jet-ski inspections and assists with setting up program equipment.

· All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

· Minimum age: 21 years old.

· Valid driver’s license, clean driving record.

· Current First Responder & CPR certification (at minimum), or ability to obtain before start date.

· Minimum of 80 hours of personal or professional boat driving experience, specifically for water skiing and/or wake surfing.

· Ability to take and pass the Utah Boating Safety course prior to May 15, 2024.

· Ability to pass a background check. 

· Attend all required training starting in late May/early June in Park City, UT.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Professional boat driving experience. 

· Experience working with people with disabilities. 

· Group management and/or behavior management experience.
