Natera is Hiring a Remote Clinical Research Scientist - Translational Scientist

POSITION SUMMARY:

This Clinical Research Scientist is responsible for co-owning our organ transplant clinical data and working with our medical, data science and broader team to develop insights and build hypotheses that will guide product development of non-invasive molecular diagnostic tests. As the expert on our clinical data this role will also be intimately involved with developing the analyses that will underpin our future publications for our market leading products.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Co-own all internal clinical data relating to transplant, be the expert on what types data we have, where we are getting it, and how we can best leverage for medical education, publication and product development.
  • Be the organ transplant subject matter expert within our product development core teams
  • Work side by side with data scientists on statistical analysis on our organ health data
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders in the preparation of abstracts, posters, and manuscripts for the purposes of peer-review publishing of results.
  • Work closely with internal teams including clinical operations, research and development, statistics, product team and external site investigator staff.
  • This role may work with PHI on a regular basis both in paper and electronic form and have access to various technologies to access PHI (paper and electronic) in order to perform the job
  • Employee must complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training and security training within the first 30 days of hire.
  • Must maintain a current status on Natera training requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 2 years clinical research experience in organ transplant required
  • Advanced degree (MD, MS, PharmD or PhD) strongly preferred. Master's degree in life sciences, other relevant discipline, along with strong experience will be considered.
  • Aptitude for statistical analysis, you must love digging into data to discover new insights. Knowledge of programming languages like R and python strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with transplant immunology and clinical care strongly preferred
  • 2 - 4 years of academic and/or pharmaceutical/biotech industry, clinical research & development experience required for Doctorate level, or 5 years of experience for Master level candidate.
  • Prior experience in clinical data interpretation, review and reconciliation.
  • Strong planning and organizational, written and oral communication skills.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Familiar with the clinical research regulations.
  • Ability to collaborate with the study team, cross functional team members and external collaborators.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Good organization and planning skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Strong leadership skills, self-motivated, adaptable to a dynamic and fast paced environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position requires the ability to use a computer keyboard, communicate over the telephone and read printed material.
  • Duties may require working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends) at times.

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
