Job Description:

Essential function for a Full-Time Instructor - Student Activities Counselor include:

• Faculty advisor to a student organization.
• Plan and implement New Student Orientation.
• Counsel students individually and in groups regarding leadership skills, budgeting, and the planning and implementation of campus events.
• Create and run various campus-wide events.
• Make appropriate referrals to campus resources.
• Advise and register students.
• Teach one section of First Year Experience courses or similar each semester.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Requirements for a Full-Time Instructor - Student Activities Counselor include:

• Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Education or related field; and two (2) years previous experience teaching academic skills and/or conducting workshops for college students, and/or freshman year experience courses.
• Minimum two (2) years experience counseling diverse populations of college students.
• Experience working with college students regarding the intersectionality of academic skills and the development of social and emotional skills.
• Experience running and coordinating campus-wide events, including budgeting and experience with students in groups and/or clubs.
