Job Summary

This position is responsible for cleaning and routine maintenance of the building and grounds (repair, safety, sanitation, and appearance) to include the department's sub-stations, and delivery/pick-up service; upkeep of the department's HVAC system and performing other maintenance duties as required. This includes but is not limited to; carpentry work, basic electric skills to maintain electrical needs, basic plumbing upkeep, and maintaining accreditation standards pertaining to the holding facility. Performs other duties as assigned. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This position is part of the Teamsters Collective Bargaining Unit, and provides an excellent work life balance. The position's hourly rate is not to exceed $23.33, and is dependent upon experience of applicant. 

Skills/Qualifications

- High School Diploma or certified equivalency with minimum one year experience in basic/general electrical, carpentry, painting and grounds maintenance, or combined aggregate of related training, experience and education.

- Must have a working knowledge of OSHA regulations regarding hazardous materials. 

- Must possess a valid driver's license and a good driving record.

- Must successfully complete a basic physical examination.

- Ability to develop a working knowledge of the department's hearting/air condition system, plumbing system, electrical system, and other maintenance systems in order to provide basic maintenance. 

- Ability to develop a working knowledge of the various cleaning preparations, pesticides, and their uses and proper applications to prevent possible exposure hazards. 

- Must be of good moral character.
