Nardin Academy is seeking a Long-Term Physical Education Substitute Teacher for their college preparatory High School for young women. The qualified individual must be available to commence employment in August 2024 through December 2024. The teacher is expected to plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Plans for the developmental needs of the students on an individual and group level in the areas of physical education including emotional, social, and psychomotor growth.
· Establishes and maintains cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
· Demonstrates strong knowledge as well as the ability to employ various instructional practices in individual and team activities both indoors and outdoors.
· Prepares an environment to facilitate the learning needs of all children.
· Demonstrates planning and preparation for instruction.
· Engages in self-reflection and annual development of a growth plan.
· Monitors student progress and development.
· Maintains and updates academic records on BlackBaud.

Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree
● NY State or comparable certification in teaching in appropriate subject area.
● Previous teaching experience in a professional setting is preferred.
Working Conditions
The work environment is a standard school setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate, but occasionally high depending upon student population and activities. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions and/or outdoor weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to bloodborne pathogens.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms using a keyboard and video display terminal. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus and peripheral vision.
Wage
$22.00/Hour
