Role: The Parts Clerk provides distribution and organization of parts.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Ordering, receiving and stocking truck and trailer parts and supplies for our maintenance shop
• Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts that need immediate attention
• Place oil, coolant and grease orders as well as welding gasses and monitors inventory weekly
• Handing out and billing parts to repair orders for technicians
• Create and process purchase orders in the fleet maintenance software .
• Ensure accuracy and reliability of data entered into the computer.
• Identify part numbers and provide descriptions with the intent of supplying or ordering parts for fleet maintenance technicians utilizing software..
• Work closely with Parts Manager to ensure needed parts and inventory levels are maintained at efficient and optimum levels
• Keeping track of slow and quick moving parts, knowing when new orders need to be placed before inventory expires or runs out
• Manage and process parts cores , as required .
• Conduct cycle counts and inventories , quarterly
• Work closely with vendors and vendor pricing for optimal efficiency
• Maintain complete and organized files
• Assist Parts Manager in managing department finances within approved budget
• Ensure parts system is maintained according to standards acceptable to the
• division and client
• Perform all shipping and receiving duties as required.
• Pick up parts at vendors if needed
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience: 0-2 year’s related experience.

Education: A high school diploma or GED required.
