Role:

The Fleet Planner is responsible for effectively planning their fleet to maximize Fleet Miles, Linehaul Revenue, and Customer Satisfaction while maintaining Driver Turnover and Deadhead standards. Fleet Planners are responsible to uphold the standards and processes within NAPA Transportation, Inc. while considering safety, morale, service, revenue and utilization in all decisions made.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Utilize planning tools to effectively plan their fleet in order to maximize revenue and miles on each unit. Plans should balance the needs of the individual driver with the needs of the entire network
• Know the intricacies of each of the driver in their fleet.
• Plan drivers in a manner that balances NAPA’s needs with that of the driver to minimize driver turnover.
• Work closely with Driver Manager counterpart to ensure proper execution of their plans
• Plan freight in a manner as to maximize NAPA’s customer scorecards.
• Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulations & Safety Compliance guidelines (validate driver hours of service to safely and legally facilitate the delivery of loads, honor specific driver/company requests related to operations/safety training, etc.)
• Communicate professionally, effectively, and timely with both internal and external customers/contacts.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations.
• Engage drivers as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Experience: 3-5 years of industry experience preferred.
• Education: A high school diploma or GED required. Bachelors’ degree preferred.
