Job Summary

Join our team as an On-Call Drug Tester who will be conducting drug tests and analyzing samples to identify drugs or alcohol in individuals, working across laboratories, medical facilities, or workplaces. We are looking for Drug Testers who specialize in laboratory analysis using advanced equipment and techniques, interpreting test results, and communicating findings to stakeholders while adhering to strict regulatory guidelines and maintaining confidentiality. This role is critical in ensuring accurate drug testing outcomes and supporting informed decision-making by employers, medical professionals, and legal authorities.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Conducting Drug Tests: Administer various drug tests, such as urine, blood, saliva, or hair tests, to detect the presence of drugs or alcohol in individuals.
  • Must be available on-call
  • Sample Collection: Collect samples from individuals safely and hygienically, ensuring proper labeling and documentation of each sample to maintain the chain of custody.
  • Must travel to collect samples from our clientele.
  • Laboratory Analysis: Perform laboratory analysis of collected samples using appropriate testing methods and equipment to accurately identify and quantify drugs or alcohol present.
  • Interpretation of Results: Interpret test results accurately and communicate findings to relevant parties, such as employers, medical professionals, or legal authorities, while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to regulatory guidelines.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Document test procedures, results, and any relevant information in detailed reports, maintaining accurate records for legal and compliance purposes. Provide reports to stakeholders in a timely manner and communicate any notable findings or concerns.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum: Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as chemistry, biology, forensic science, or a related discipline.
  • Preferred: Certification in drug testing or forensic science, such as the Certified Drug Testing Collector (CDTC) or Certified Forensic Drug Analyst (CFDA) credentials.
  • At least 2 years of prior experience in laboratory work, forensic science, or drug testing.
  • At least 2 years of experience in handling and analyzing samples in a laboratory setting is typically well-suited for the role
  • Required: Car and ability to travel across NY state, boroughs
  • Required: At least 2 years of experience as a Drug Tester or Drug Screen Collector
  • Essential: Proficiency in various drug testing methods and techniques, including sample collection procedures, laboratory analysis, and interpretation of test results, is essential.
  • Required: Familiarity with common testing methods such as urine, blood, saliva, and hair tests.
  • Attention to Detail: Drug Testers must have strong attention to detail to accurately collect, handle, and analyze samples, as well as to interpret test results and maintain accurate records. Precision and accuracy are critical to ensure reliable and defensible results.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of relevant regulations, guidelines, and protocols governing drug testing, including federal, state, and industry-specific regulations, is important.; ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to chain of custody procedures.
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish and English) are preferred but not required
  • Experience in using electronic medical records like ECW.
  • Ability to independently organize and prioritize work
  • Ability to identify data needed for both assessment and decision-making purposes
