NANTUCKET PUBLIC SCHOOLS is Hiring a Spanish Teacher (9-12) Near Nantucket, MA

The Spanish teacher will have the primary responsibility for planning, programming, and teaching Spanish in alignment with the high school curricular objectives. Additionally, the teacher will be responsible for evaluating and reporting for all students in his or her classes.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Spanish Teacher to join our faculty. Our ideal candidate can speak and write fluently in Spanish and can get students excited about learning the language in the classroom. You will develop a well-rounded curriculum that enables students to read and write in Spanish, as well as speak both formally and conversationally. Cultural studies should be integrated throughout the curriculum to give students perspective on the history and development of the language. You must have a valid teaching license to apply for this role.
Spanish Teacher Duties and Responsibilities
• Teach students the Spanish language, including grammar and vocabulary • Design curriculum lesson plans
• Assign coursework and administer tests
• Grade assignments
• Incorporate classroom learning activities
• Follow all school policies
• Present lessons in a comprehensive manner and use visual/audio means to facilitate learning
• Provide individualized instruction to each student by promoting interactive learning • Create and distribute educational content (notes, summaries, assignments, etc.) • Assess and record students' progress and provide grades and feedback • Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom
• Collaborate with other teachers, parents, and stakeholders and participate in regular meetings
• Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities and events • Observe and understand students' behavior and psyche and report suspicions of neglect, abuse, etc.
• Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending seminars, conferences, etc.
