Job Summary:
The Elementary STEM Teacher will collaborate with grade-level teachers (grades 3, 4, and 5) around the science curriculum. They will co-plan each unit with the grade-level teachers so that some lessons are facilitated by the STEM Teacher and some by the grade-level teachers. Specifically, the STEM Teacher will facilitate one science lesson per week per teacher. The STEM Teacher will also design curricular extensions that will make the science lessons relevant to the Nantucket community. They will reach out to key community stakeholders and arrange for guest speakers and field trips.
Minimum Requirements:
Experience in elementary science teaching required
Knowledge of Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks for Science and NGSS
Teaching position requires a BA or BS, MA certification or the ability to be certified in MA
