Our pay is very competitive and benefits vary for seasonal or year-round staff. Description

Position Title: Housekeeper
Reports To: Executive Housekeeper
Department: Housekeeping and Laundry
Employment Dates: TBD - Seasonal Temporary Mid-May through Mid-October
Purpose of Position:
Under the direction of the Executive Housekeeper, the Housekeeper is a non- exempt seasonal temporary position responsible for the cleanliness and housekeeping maintenance of Club properties. Ensures the highest level of service as meets expectations of Club members. Performs all work in accordance with essential functions and responsibilities as described below and in the spirit of the Club's mission and vision.
Responsibilities:
Duties shall include but not be limited to:

• Cleans and maintains Clubhouse, Cottages, Dormitory, and GCM areas:
  • Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors; sweeps and vacuums rugs and baseboards; shampoos and spot clean carpets.
  • Dusts and polishes furniture and woodwork.
  • Empties, cleans and lines waste receptacles and disposes of trash.
  • Washes doors, windows, walls, ceilings, venetian blinds and furniture.
  • Changes bed linens.
  • Washes windows and cares for window treatments.
  • Cleans microwave ovens, stoves, coffee pots, and refrigerators.
  • Polishes metalwork.
  • Cleans, disinfects, and stocks restrooms and humidors.
  • Stocks cottages with designated amenities and supplies.
  • Requisitions supplies and notifies supervisor of expected shortages in a timely manner.
  • Reports repair and maintenance needs to supervisor. Initiates work orders as designated.
  • Cleans lighting fixtures and replaces light bulbs.
  • Closes windows, turns off lights and locks doors to secure buildings.
• Launders, presses, and folds Clubhouse and Cottages linens and uniforms.
• Maintains and keeps equipment and materials in proper condition.
• Picks up paper and sweeps and washes areas around building and facilities.
• Observes safe working practices. Corrects or reports any safety or fire hazards. Follows label instructions to mix and dilute cleaners, disinfectant and stripping agents to ensure proper strength for use.
• May assist other maintenance personnel in maintaining buildings and fixtures.
• Operates vehicles to and from work areas and hauls debris for disposal, cleaning materials, chemicals and parts.
• Moves furniture as necessary.
• Performs pest and rodent control and removal in and around buildings, plants, facilities and adjacent grounds.
• Observes all Club safety practices and protocols.

Performs other duties as designated by the Executive Housekeeper.
Position Requirements

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of proper cleaning methods and safe usage of cleaning chemicals, materials, disinfectants, janitorial tools and equipment.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational and communication skills

Experience and Education:

• Prior Housekeeper experience required.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

• Work tasks are performed indoors and outdoors and involve physical strength and endurance. Must be able to work in varying temperatures and inclement weather.
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, walking, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, repetitive motions, bending, lifting, pushing, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch.
• Requires communicating effectively with members, guests, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Must be able to lift and transport up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
• May also experience exposure to the following: carbon monoxide fumes from equipment, various insects and native/domestic animals, potentially damaging noise levels, and a variety of dirt, mud, dust, pollen, and approved pesticides and cleaning chemicals.
• Must be able to drive golf carts and use cleaning related equipment.
• Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.

Projected Work Schedule:
Full-time positions must be available to work a minimum five day work week averaging over 40 hours per week. Hours during the season may require weeks averaging over 50 hours as needed. Any request or anticipated absence from the agreed schedule requires prior approval from the Executive Housekeeper
