About the Role
Lead systems integration efforts of advanced next-generation diagnostic consumable and instrument
Alongside assay development teams, characterize performance and impact of various modules on system-level performance and robustness
Create and execute performance improvement plans based on module and system-level characterization work
Innovate and optimize in the fields of microfluidics, heat transfer, optics, and sample preparation
Drive robust test development and execution
Collaborate with a cross-functional team to manage short and long term technical priorities
Develop foundational requirements, specifications, and verification criteria
Preferred Technical Qualifications
Expertise in advanced interdisciplinary systems such as optics, fluidics, and thermal management of biological samples
Ability to develop and evaluate product requirements, verification plans, configuration management schemes, and more
Knowledge of in-vitro diagnostics product development process
Experience with techniques such as PCR, Next-Gen Sequencing, etc
Broad exposure to industry functions ranging from design, manufacturing, and sustaining support
Comfort working in biological laboratories with a basic knowledge of wet lab instrumentation & equipment
Experience using commercial CAD packages (e.g., SolidWorks)
General Qualifications
B.S. in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or related technical discipline with at least 5 years of industry experience or M.S. with at least 3 years of industry experience
Excellent communication and presentation skills, highly organized with demonstrated curiosity, scientific rigor and creative problem-solving
Proactive self-starter with eagerness to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment
Passion for technology translation and willingness to shape Nanopath’s future
