Facilities Maintenance Technician

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is a vital member of the NANA Healthcare Management system of care. The Facilities Maintenance Technician is under the supervision of the facilities manager and CEO, Maintenance is overall responsible for the property and grounds. The maintenance makes sure the property is to code, safe, and repaired and the grounds are well kept and groomed.

Type: Full time

Pay Rate: $18 - $20/HR

Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:30am – 5pm

Job Responsibilities Include:

1. Perform preventative maintenance on buildings, including, but not limited to, skilled carpentry, electrical, painting, plastering, dry walling, plumbing, heating, limited air conditioning and mechanical repair work, door hardware, keying, exit and emergency lighting.
2. Diagnose advanced level plumbing work including the installation, repair and replacement of plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, faucets, water heaters and pipes; clear obstructions from water and sewer lines.
3. Perform adequate level of carpentry work including the repair of porches (stairs, decking, joisting, handrails, trim), walls, windows, siding, doors and other carpentry work.
4. Inspect building facilities to identify building maintenance needs; complete inspection and preventive maintenance reports, recommend, prioritize, and perform corrective maintenance as required.
5. Operate, maintain and repair a variety of mechanical tools and equipment such as power saws, power sanders, drills, air compressors, paint sprayers, generators, pressure washers, landscape equipment, and various hand tools required for carpentry, plumbing, and maintenance skills.
6. Coordinates with program administration.
7. Adheres to the DBHC’s philosophy, goals and objectives.
8. Serves as a positive role model by demonstrating professional and caring attitudes and behaviors toward co-workers, patients, and guests.
9. Ensures and maintains the confidential nature of all patients and facility activities.
10. Protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with DBHC’s privacy policies, procedures and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a healthcare provider. Failure to comply with DBHC’s policies and procedures on patient privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
11. Inspect the structure of the building and determine if repairs are needed.
12. Perform basic or general maintenance.
13. Supervise renovations and additions.
14. Oversee groundskeeping.
15. Transport, dispose of, or relocate office equipment.

Skills and Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or GED is strongly preferred.
• Preferred 5 of general handyman experience
• Must be able to read and comprehend English.
• Ability to perform simple calculations by hand or with use of a calculator.
• Must be able to work well with others and perform a variety of tasks under supervision.
• Ability to delegate duties and maintain efficient standards of operation.
