NANA Construction, LLC is Hiring a Remote Equipment Operator - Red Dog Mine, AK - Rotational

Job Description

Drives gasoline or diesel powered equipment to move materials, tow trailers, pull out objects imbedded in ground, dig up ground or pull cable of winch to raise, lower, or load heavy material or equipment by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-use, monthly, quarterly and/or annual inspections for the equipment in which he/she will operate
  • Fastens attachments, such as graders, plows, and rollers, to tractor with hitch pins.
  • Releases brake, shifts gears, and depresses accelerator or moves throttle to control forward and backward movement of tractor.
  • Steers heavy equipment by turning steering wheel and depressing brake pedals.
  • Immediately report all Incidents/Accidents, no matter how small, to their Supervisor.
  • Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent or ten (10) years Heavy Equipment Operator experience will be considered.
  • Minimum five (5) years directly related experience required.
  • Previous backhoe, forklift, Hyster Forklift, 924, D5, Grader, 5T dump truck and grader experience.
  • Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy.

The employee is occasionally required to sit. Steel toed boots required on the job.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Travel may require an employee or contractor to pass a TSA security checkpoint. If the employee or contractor does not have valid identification, they will not be able to travel until valid identification is obtained and verified.
