    SUMMARY: Works under the direction of the principal to establish and maintain open lines of communication with administration, students and their parents concerning both the academic and behavioral progress of students.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Works under the direction of the principal in relation to supporting students with behavioral needs.
    • Works an integral part of building Positive Behavior Systems in the building.
    • Assists the principal in supporting Tier 1 school-wide behavioral supports
    • Assists the principal in developing behavior plans for students needing Tier 2 or Tier 3 support.
    • Ensures that behavior data is tracked in a way that both serves the student and the building.
    • Contacts and meets with parents under the direction of the principal, when appropriate.
    • Is an advocate and spokesperson for the school to all stakeholders
    • Is aware of the details and undercurrents in the running of the school and uses this information to address current and potential problems
    • Has respectful interactions with teachers and students
    • Supports certified and classified staff in developing their understanding of PBI and student discipline.
    • Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both the academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students
    • Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
    • Attends and participate in faculty meetings
    • Keeps immediate supervisor informed of activities and any issues that may arise
    • Provides needed and requested information on a timely basis
    • Assists in upholding and enforcing school behavior expectations.
    • Maintains accurate and complete records as required by federal and state law, administrative rules, and Board policy
    • Assumes responsibility for his or her continuing professional growth and development by attendance at professional meetings, membership in professional organizations, enrollment in advanced courses, and by reading professional journals and other publications
    • Adheres to The Code of Ethics of the Idaho Teaching Profession adopted by the Professional Standards Commission and the State Board of Education
    • Seeks assistance should emergencies arise
    • Represents the school district in a positive manner
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None
    EDUCATION AND OR EXPERIENCE:
    • Idaho Teacher Certification.
    • Prior experience (minimum of four years) as an Elementary Education teacher, preferred.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS: Demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding instructional practice and discipline.
    PRODUCTIVITY/EFFICIENCY SKILLS: Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary; organize job functions and work area to be able to effectively complete varied assignments within established time frame.
    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to conduct basic math functions and manipulate formulas in spreadsheets as needed.
    REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram form. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
