ABOUT THIS POSITION:

Our Accounts Receivable Specialist is an outgoing personality to work in the finance department to help with accounts receivable. The person in this role, acting under general supervision, ensures that payment is received from customers in a timely manner. Additionally, they will be involved in other accounting functions in order to establish effective internal controls and cross-training.

Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm

JOB RESPONSIBILIES:

• Receive payments from customers.
• Ensure customers are receiving all necessary billing information accurately and on time. This is done via email, mail and in some cases uploaded invoices into client portals and any other methods needed.
• Contact customers regarding past due invoices.
• Review customer requests for Credit Terms.
• Review Credit Memos.
• Respond to Bankruptcy Notices & Credit Card Charge-back notices.
• Upload invoices into customer EDI systems
• Reconciliations
• Application of bank deposits, wire payments and credit card transactions
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• 1 year of related office experience is required. 
• 1 year of AR experience preferred. 
• Must be able to work on a computer for 6-8 hours a day.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with team members at all levels.
• Must have great attention to detail, even with repetitive processes.
• Must be able to follow instructions, both written and verbal.
• Must be able to work under deadlines and quotas.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• An ability to be kind but firm in customer interactions.
• High level of personal integrity and reliability.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to work with people in a courteous and professional manner while enforcing policy.
