NAMI Solano County is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Part-Time Event Planning Support. This position will play a crucial role in assisting with the planning and execution of various events organized by our affiliate throughout the year. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess strong communication skills, and have a passion for supporting mental health initiatives and community engagement. The position will report to the Executive Director and support the board and staff on various projects/events.
Description
Key Responsibilities:
Event Coordination: Assist in the coordination and planning of various events hosted by NAMI Solano County, including but not limited to fundraisers, awareness campaigns, support group meetings, and community outreach events.
Vendor and Venue Liaison: Communicate with vendors, venues, and other event partners to secure necessary services, products, and spaces for events. Negotiate contracts and agreements as needed.
Logistics Management: Coordinate event logistics such as venue setup, catering, audiovisual equipment, transportation, and signage. Ensure all logistical aspects are executed smoothly and efficiently.
Promotional Support: Assist with promotional efforts for events, including creating promotional materials, managing social media campaigns, and distributing event information to relevant stakeholders and community members.
Attendee Management: Oversee attendee registration processes, manage RSVP lists, and provide support to attendees before, during, and after events.
Budget Oversight: Assist in developing event budgets, track expenses, and ensure that events are executed within budgetary constraints.
Post-Event Evaluation: Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success of events, gather feedback from participants, and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in event planning, coordination, or related field is preferred.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with event management software/tools is a plus.
Passion for mental health advocacy and supporting the mission of NAMI Solano County.
Schedule and Compensation:
This is a part-time position, with an estimated commitment of 15-20 hours per week.
Flexible schedule with occasional evenings and weekends required to accommodate event timing.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience. $22-25 hour
