Nailor Industries is Hiring a HVAC Controls Design Engineer Near Houston, TX
Thermal Corporation, a division of Nailor International, Inc., is seeking a Controls Design Engineer to be part of our Automation and Controls team.
The Controls Design Engineer is responsible for creation, editing, maintaining, installing, testing and troubleshooting of onboard automation systems (primarily Distech) for packaged, custom, Air Handling Units for Data Center and other Commercial applications.
Controls Design Engineer must be able to read and understand Customer’s specified Sequence of Operations (SOO) and develop code based on technical documents such as wiring diagrams, control diagrams, schematics, specifications, and instructions. Must also be motivated to work on their own and as part of a team. Strong communication skills are required this position.
The Controls Design Engineer position is a salary position. Time will be split between an office environment, a manufacturing environment and time at job sites. This position does involve some domestic travel.
Responsibilities:
Work with Team and Customer in defining project requirements and interpreting SOO requirements and developing controls programs to meet requirements.
Design and develop functionality, layout and Bill of Materials for controls system, including controller, modules, sensors, actuators and transducers.
Programming of software for Controller and HMIs, in support of SOO.
Modification of existing Programs for Controllers and HMIs for improved performance or additional functionality.
Manage, maintain and document revisions of hardware, firmware and software.
Develop controls schematics and diagrams.
Provide all necessary controls documentation including points and parameter lists,
Develop test scripts and train and assist Controls Technicians in proper installation, testing and troubleshooting of systems on production floor.
Effectively document and communicate executed work
Assist Electrical Team and Test Team on all aspects of controls including sensors, actuators, VFDs.
Assist on-site, partner start-up team in troubleshooting of overall controls system.
