Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Pharmacy or Pharmacist, and according to approval of Hospital Policy and Procedures, performs assigned duties in the Hospital Pharmacy for the efficient preparation, distribution and billing of medications.
Position Duties (Not all Inclusive)

• Adheres to the guidance and instructions of the pharmacist.
• Initiates and receives prescription authorization request.
• Takes stock bottle from the shelf for a prescription.
• Prepares and packages drug orders (e.g. cunt, tablets/capsules, measure liquids or place them in the container.)
• Affix prescription label and auxiliary label(s) to the prescription container.
• Reconstitute medications.
• Package and label prepackaged drugs.
• Load bulk unlabeled drugs into an automated dispensing system.

Qualifications

• Required : Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English required.
• Required : Registered with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee.
