Job Description
The Member Engagement Advisor role is an important position for the Member Engagement Team that ensures our members have a positive experience and utilize the many benefits of NACD. The Member Engagement Advisor manages a portfolio of accounts and interacts with members over the phone, emails, webinars, and in person events. You will have the opportunity to build relationships and cultivate new ones with an impressive membership base of senior executives and corporate board directors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reaches out to existing members to engage in relevant governance content.
Establishes relationships with sophisticated c-suite executives and board directors to identify, understand, and propose governance solutions to member challenges.
Partner with Member Engagement Coordinators to manage all member renewal opportunities.
Advances the life cycle of corporate board members from onboarding and engagement to the execution of governance solution deliverables, identification of additional sales opportunities, and membership renewal.
Executes advisory engagements from point of sale through completion, working with NACD faculty and board leaders to facilitate director education sessions.
Identifies member executives and directors for potential Directorship Certification candidacy and participation in national education courses.
Works cross-functionally with other departments such as Marketing and Content to deliver and incorporate member feedback and priorities.
Articulates the NACD value proposition and related product offerings.
Contributes to a dynamic team environment with a focus on collaboration and continuous learning.
Attends periodic education events to increase content fluency to enhance the member experience.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
An undergraduate degree is required.
Provide support to members via phone, virtual meetings, and in person events.
The successful candidate will have 3-5 years' experience with client success, account management, sales, and service or fundraising. Professional services experience is preferred.
Ability to develop strong relationships with a company’s board of directors and C-suite executives.
Must be solutions-oriented, and comfortable with problem solving and conflict resolution.
Ability to develop product/content usage plans.
Monitor member usage and other content interactions to ensure accounts are engaged.
Ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and follow-through with minimal supervision.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills.
CRM, Salesforce, or other data management experience is preferred. Public speaking experience is also a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

NACD employees are required to be fully vaccinated for the COVID-19 virus by their first day of employment. An employee is “fully vaccinated” two weeks after receiving their second dose of a two-dose vaccination series or two weeks after the first shot of a single-dose vaccine (or as described by the vaccine manufacturer).
The salary/hourly range for this position is $68,000-$75,000 plus bonus potential. Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
