NAACP is Hiring a Field Governance Compliance Manager Near BALTIMORE, MD

POSITION TITLE: Field Governance Compliance Manager 

LOCATION: Baltimore, MD 

TRAVEL: Moderate

POSITION SUMMARY

The NAACP is seeking a Field Governance Compliance Manager who is a highly organized, collaborative team member with strong customer service and relations skills to support the achievement of compliance and field operational objectives. The Field Governance Compliance Manager will execute project and data management while working with teams to meet project deadlines and compliance objectives. The Field Governance Compliance Manager will collaborate with the Field Governance Membership Manager and the Field Operations Membership Management unit.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Develop a strategic approach for monitoring and informing the Field team and units on compliance standards and filing of annual reports;
  • Evaluate the efficiency of internal controls of the Article and Complaint process while continuously updating and improving both;
  • Maintain working knowledge of the NAACP's Constitution & By-Laws, Membership Structure;
  • Collaborate with other internal departments to assess standards and compliance issues, and prepare resolution strategies for Field's Operations review;
  • Develop and implement a Field and Membership Standard Operation Procedures manual in collaboration with National Directors and Field Membership; 
  • Create a Field and Membership – Standard Operating Procedures manual on unit compliance in collaboration with National Directors and designees; 
  • Develop, manage, and update information on best engagement practices, and provide quarterly presentations to units in the field for potential implementation;
  • Assist with the execution of Committee on Membership and Units (COMU) Hearing Panels associated with the complaint process, and preparing training for the Units on governance practices;
  • Oversee monthly reporting; including Branch activity reports, Compliance Analysis and Unit Engagement Activities, and others as needed; 
  • Document and track resolutions of complaints from the COMU Hearing Panels; 
  • Coordinate resources and information to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of the Field Governance group to units and provide training to staff quarterly;
  • Provide oversight, coordination, and technical assistance for Unit elections;
  • Coordinate flow of information between National Directors and Field Operations staff; 
  • Collaborate with the Field Operations staff to perform activities and services, potentially during evenings and weekends, in support of community-based or virtual Field and Membership training, State Conferences, Membership and Renewal training, National Board elections, and election conflict resolution;
  • Function as the Department's liaison to the units for reporting and other compliance tracking data requests;
  • Assist in the production of internal Department reports and required public reports;
  • Attend and participate in Field Operation conference calls, conventions, and conferences representing the Department;
  • Conduct and/or travel to assist the Department at conferences, elections, training, and other field assignments; and
  • Perform other duties assigned by the National Director, Governance & Engagement Director, or designee.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Professional Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent; 
  • Minimum of 5 years of data processing and administration experience or related work experience;
  • Demonstrated expertise in proofreading and copy-editing, with meticulous attention to detail; 
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, CRM, database management, and general office equipment; and
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
