Job Description

Do you have experience working with children between 3 years and 6 years of age? Do you have strong classroom leadership, understand the nourishment needs of children? We are looking to fill a few Lead Guide roles for our upcoming school. 

In this role, the teacher shall understand the development stages of the child, be able to introduce the child to different lessons, and be a good team player. The teacher shall be able to create lesson plans for each child, handle child development using scientific materials in the prepared environment, and establish a close partnership with each parent.

Job duties include: 

• Leading a classroom of up to 25 children ages two through six within a network of high-quality, Montessori preschools.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver a lesson plan that facilitates active Montessori learning experiences.
• Create learning opportunities that support the cognitive, language, social, emotional, and physical development of every child.
• Observe, log, and report on student performance.
• Manage and maintain hygiene and healthy classroom environments.
• Build relationships and communicate regularly with families to support each child's development.
• Participate in conferences, professional development, and training.
• Ensure compliance with the Montessori school environment per state-mandated standards.
• Support and train assistant lead guides that report directly to the Head of School.
• Be a peer coach to fellow lead guides in the school.
• Manage implementation of the curriculum and impart classroom support.
• A liaison between research and practice and supporting lead guides in using data to improve instruction at all levels.
• Focusing on improving the lead guide’s strengths, collaborating, discussing common issues of concern, and being a shoulder to bounce off ideas.
• Motivate Lead Guides and encourage them to “think out of the box.”
• Model continuous learning and create learning among parents’ communities.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in any subject
• Must have at least 3 years of experience working with children between 2 and 6 years using the Montessori method
• Must have basic know-how on using computers, tools, and social media
• Must pass a criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications:

• Should be Certified in Montessori education.
• Should excel in communication with the parents & school leadership.
• Should be able to mentor junior staff.
