In-N-Out Burger, a family owned and growth orientated restaurant company, has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Quality Control Technician in our Chino, CA ground beef production facility. This position is responsible for conducting production floor Quality Assurance and Food Safety monitoring and documentation along with product and environmental sampling.

General Responsibilities:
  • Spending the majority of time in the refrigerated production area monitoring, documenting and reviewing quality, food safety and sanitation standards, programs and procedures, e.g. HACCP (USDA), Process Control, SSOP, SOP, GMP, SPS, Food Defense, supplier, PIP, product specifications, pest control and other pre-requisites
  • Conducting sampling (e.g. knife excision, sponging) testing (e.g. ATP) and inspecting (e.g. pre-operational and operational) of production processes, the environment and products to ensure product quality, sanitary conditions and wholesomeness standards
  • Calibrating and using sampling, weighing, product composition and temperature monitoring equipment to provide assurances of accuracy and consistency
  • Verifying routinely that production processes, facility and equipment are functioning as intended
  • Ensuring that only quality and wholesome products are available to be prepared and served to customers
  • Contributing to special projects through root cause analysis and continuous improvement techniques
  • Assisting the Quality Assurance Supervisor when absent to fulfill departmental needs
  • Continuing one’s professional development in Quality Assurance, Sanitation, Regulatory Affairs, Food Microbiology and other core technical competencies
  • Performing all technician duties with pride and craftsmanship while fostering a culture of teamwork, cooperation, occupational safety and dedication to helping others succeed

Work Schedule Benefits:
  • Full-time position, hourly (non-exempt)
  • Pay Range: $22.75 -$25.00 per hour
    • (The above represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we will consider your experience and other job-related factors)
  • 5 days per week, rotating schedule
  • Varied start times: 3:00 am, 4:00 am, 6:00 am, and 6:30 am, 11:00 am
  • Weekend and holiday availability required

Qualifications:
  • An Associate’s Degree, Bachelors of Science degree preferred, in Agriculture, Meat Science, Animal Science, Food Science, Microbiology or related field
  • One or more years of industry or classroom experience in food production, quality assurance, and/or food safety
  • HACCP and/or Preventive Controls for Human Food trained
  • Strong written, verbal, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Physical demands and requirements:
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 70 pounds
  • Cold working conditions: Ability to withstand prolonged work assignments in temperatures as low as 34 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 hours at a time
  • Physical demands: Position requires frequent lifting, walking, reaching, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling cold conditions, wet flooring, working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to food grade chemicals and moderate noise levels
