N!CK'S North America is Hiring a Remote TEMPORARY Jr. Accountant

Location: Remote in US only – preferably on the East Coast. This is a TEMPORARY position expected to last 3 - 6 months. Pay range $25-$30 per hour. This is a 40 hour per week position.

Position Description:

N!CK’S USA is searching for a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support our Finance team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Junior Accountant will be responsible for supporting the daily and month-end accounting and financial tasks of the business, ensuring accuracy and compliance of all transactions. This position will participate in various project work as needed and will obtain a well-rounded understanding of Finance’s role within the organization.

Roles and responsibilities including, but not limited to:

Month-End/Year-End:

  • Consistent involvement in month-end close process at the beginning of each month.
  • Assist in generating monthly financial statements.
  • Analyze General Ledger account activity and prepare journal entries.
  • Bank statement and various account reconciliations.
  • Maintain accounting related spreadsheets and files.

Daily:

  • Participate in the continuous improvement of Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable processes, with a focus on the optimization of trade spend management to support the company’s strategic financial objectives.
  • Execute accurate and timely processing of Accounts Payable, including invoice processing, monthly statement reconciliation, and trade spend management for CPG activities.
  • Enhance the Accounts Receivable process, including the application of customer payments, monitoring of daily invoicing activities, and reconciliation of trade promotion deductions.
  • Manage and analyze trade spend budgets and ensure that trade promotions are accurately reflected in the financial statements.
  • Maintain rigorous records of vendor and customer data within the company’s financial systems, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of trade agreements and terms.
  • Coordinate the review, verification, and adjustment of invoices, including approvals, coding, and trade promotion accruals as necessary.
  • Proactively manage exceptions and collaborate with business partners, including sales and marketing teams, to resolve discrepancies and ensure that trade spending is within budget.
  • Facilitate the preparation and distribution of 1099 forms to vendors, as well as corresponding IRS filings.
  • Sales Tax filings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience performing similar accounting-related tasks, preferably within the CPG industry.
  • A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with financial management platforms such as NetSuite and Bill.com
  • Strong Excel skillset
  • Demonstrated experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable with specific exposure to trade spend management.
  • Familiarity with CPG industry standards and practices regarding trade promotions, spending, and vendor agreements.
  • Strong analytical skills with the capacity to work through complex data and provide insights related to trade spend efficiency and profitability.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex trade spend activities and financial impacts to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Must thrive in a fast paced, goal oriented, dynamic organization with time sensitive deadlines.
  • Demonstrated approach to “Acting as an Owner” – solutions-driven, cost-creative, and will leave their ego at the door to complete any task that needs to be done for the success of the team & N!CK’S.
  • Self-starter/resourceful mentality with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
