Assistant Manager
Full Job Description:
â—Assistant manager helps maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus.
â— At the direction and delegation of the Store Manager, the assistant assists with supervision of store employees, management and presentation of merchandise and completion of paperwork.
â—The assistant also performs stocking and cashiering functions and performs other duties as necessary to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets and reducing losses.
â—Must be able to work different shifts including holidays and weekends.
Duties and Job Functions:
â—Provide superior customer service leadership.
â—Greet and assist customers and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer’s purchase.
â—Assist the Store Manager with scheduling employees.
â—Provide adequate training for employees.
â—Conduct safety meetings.
â—Ensuring employee compliance with company policies and procedures.
â—Follow company work processes to manage merchandise, including receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking and rotating merchandise on shelves and building merchandise displays.
â—Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
â—Assist in ensuring the financial integrity of the store through strict cashier accountability, key control, and cash control procedures.
â—Authorize and sign for refunds and overrides.
â—Assist with the management of the store in the Store Manager’s absence.

Qualifications and Skills:
â—Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a retail store.
â—Demonstrates leadership and integrity with experience managing a staff of team members.
â—Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
â—Strong merchandising and visual skills.
â—Excellent organization skills; able to plan and execute tasks efficiently.
â—Proactive and creative problem solving ability.
â—Flexible and adaptable.
â—Ability to multi-task and balance multiple priorities.
â—Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
â—Ability to work weekends, nights and holidays
â—Strong Retail/Sales experience.
â—Must have a customer-centric attitude.
â—Enjoy interacting with different types of people and personalities.
â—Ability to solve problems and deal with a variety of situations.
â—Good organization and customer service skills with attention to detail.
â—Ability to perform cash register functions and generate shift reports.
â—Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability.
