myTOD is Hiring a Payroll Specialist (Part-Time) Near Newington, CT

Position Purpose

The part-time Payroll Specialist will support Human Resources by processing payroll for the Newington, CT hourly, salary and bargaining unit workforce.

Job Duties

  • Owns payroll processing for the Newington weekly and bi-weekly workforce through payroll submission using a web-based system (currently Paychex)
  • Owns payroll processing for the Newington bargaining unit workforce per the collective bargaining agreement.
  • Reviews and validates with Managers and Cell Leaders, all hourly employee punch detail from the ERP system
  • Provides ad-hoc and scheduled reporting for Payroll function
  • Maintains payroll and related program documentation, including hourly attendance per Article VIII of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Files all payroll related documents in employees’ personnel files
  • May be assigned to carry out other tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of the department (e.g. employee file maintenance, etc.)

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or other discipline preferred
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience processing and administering payroll required; prior experience in accounting and/or HR preferred
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Specific software experience with Epicor or similar ERP system, or Paychex payroll is preferred
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $22.60 - $26.88 per hour
