Test Technician

Verification & Validation

This Test Technician is responsible executing activities that includes : simulated customer workflow testing, bench level component testing, troubleshooting on earthmoving machines, the capture and analysis of test data used in the development of Grade Control products for earthmoving machines such as Track Type Tractors, Motor Graders, and Hydraulic Excavators.

In addition, this technician is also responsible for participating in the design of new products and clarifying user requirements for the development engineers.

Job Description / Responsibilities

  • Evaluate new Grade Control products and technologies, primarily at the bench / component level
  • Responsible for soldering PCBs, creating / modifying cables and harnesses as needed
  • Typical work environment for this role will be 20-30 percent office / bench based and 70-80% on machine based
  • Develop test procedures for Grade Control systems in collaboration with the lead design engineers and software development teams
  • Analyze data and generate reports that document results from testing on Grade Control products
  • Conduct Grade Control test setups and teardowns in a lab environment and on earthmoving machines, including installation of sensors, brackets, displays, wiring

Qualifications

  • Experience using a variety of quality inspection hand tools and measuring tools
  • Applied experience in the development / testing and troubleshooting of electro mechanical components (preferred)
  • Any soldering knowledge is a plus, but can be trained
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude, as well as manual dexterity to work in bench test and field test environments
