Roessel Joy is Hiring a Senior Staff Accountant Near Framingham, MA
An architecture and planning company is seeking to hire a Senior Staff Accountant. This role will sit on a team of 10 and report to the VP of Finance. Some responsibilities will be owning the general ledger function, performing month-end close, and journal entries, and ensuring AP/AR postings are accurate. Not needed but anyone with AIA construction billing exposure would be a huge plus. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience, a background using Deltek or Oracle software, and engineering/construction industry experience.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly financial statements, reports and records by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information
- Responsible for month-end general ledger reconciliation and analysis
- Maintain bank accounts by requesting disbursements and preparing monthly reconciliations
- Monitor reserve accounts and short-term fund investments
- Research and reconcile all discrepancies
- Assist with ad-hoc projects as assigned by the CFO
- Audit and verify documents
- Follow internal controls
- Complete data backups
- Financial and profitability analysis on a requested basis
- Supervise, coach, and direct AP, AR, and junior accountants as directed by the Controller
Qualifications:
- Must have an Accounting degree and at least 4 years' experience
- MBA or CPA certification PREFERRED
- Strong computer skills
- Accuracy in daily work and other projects
- Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines
- Adherence to policies, procedures and instructions of Manager of Financial Reporting
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with vendors and other employees
- Ability to function as a team player
