MWH is Hiring a Mechanical Inspector Near Martinez, CA

MWH Constructors' Construction Management Services (CMS) group is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Mechanical Inspector for project work in Martinez, CA. The Mechanical Inspector will ensure that all mechanical systems and components meet established standards and project specifications. This person will be responsible for conducting inspections, testing, and quality assurance activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Essential Functions

  • Provide single-point field inspection of Contractor’s work representing the Construction Manager in the field.
  • On a daily basis monitor and record all work scope being executed and prepare a comprehensive Daily Report with measurement of daily quantities completed and resources utilized.
  • Understand contract documentation and test plan for the designated Work Package.
  • Review, analyze and record any construction issues potentially resulting in a scope, time or cost impact to the work of the Contractor which may result in a change to the contract.
  • Ensure master As-built drawing information is being maintained by Contractor.
  • Attend, as necessary, Weekly Progress Meetings with Contractor, including review of progress to planned schedule.
  • Develop project specific quality control and assurance documents and standards for projects that are under development.
  • Plan and coordinate all field testing and inspections in accordance with the Contract Documents.
  • Document compliance and non-compliance with established quality control and quality assurance procedures.
  • Work with Construction Manager to implement methodology and criteria to resolve any non-compliance notices previously issued.
  • Review and submit all test reports for inclusion in turnover documentation to Owner.
  • Prepare written reports documenting QA/QC inspections, non-compliance notices, and corrective actions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a mechanical inspector in industrial water/wastewater facilities and/or public utility projects.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and components commonly used in water facilities.
  • Thorough understanding of construction safety, quality control and general contract management requirements necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of relevant construction industry & inspection experience.
  • Experience with large water & wastewater treatment plants.
  • Related certifications

Compensation

  • The total hourly rate is $89.24 per the General Prevailing Wage Determination (PWD) made by the Director of Industrial Relations.
