General Summary:
Responsible for overall operations of behavioral health services integrated with primary care to promote wellness for the patients of MVHC. The director will lead the department in a collaborative manner working with internal and external partners to ensure effective service delivery. Responsible for personnel management of all non-provider staff. Responsible for compliance with accreditation, regulatory, federal, and state rules, and regulations as well as organizational policies and procedures. Ensures patient care meets and aligns with the standards of the mission of the organization. 
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing or related healthcare field
• Five years’ experience leading clinical teams.
• Experience in behavioral health integrated healthcare model preferred.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills are required.
• Attention to detail with demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to complete projects on time with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer skills, including experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
Working Conditions:
• Carry up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
• Standing 1-2 hours at a time
• Walking approx. 30 minutes per hour throughout the day.
• Withstanding pressure and dealing with emergency situations as needed.
• Average working hours with possible non-traditional hours.
• Potential for exposure to blood and body fluids.
• Ability to deal with disgruntled patients in order to deescalate the situation.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides leadership and coordination services of the behavioral health department.
• Manages assigned personnel including staffing, orientation and training, performance management, and completing competency assessments.
• Maintains compliance with MVHC policies and procedures and external regulatory bodies.
• Ensures proper utilization and timeliness of services and optimizes client care by coordinating services within the organization and with other community services.
• Identifies and facilitates performance improvement activities. 
• Assesses staff productivity utilizing organizational or industry standards.
• Assures adequate and efficient workflow in the department.
• Monitors clinic provider schedules on a regular basis and collaborates with other management staff to assist in adjusting support staff as needed to meet provider demand.
• Participates in the development of the annual operating budget; responsible for monitoring compliance with visits, revenue, and expense projections on a monthly basis.
• Performs public relations and patient liaison activities including conflict resolution, complaint disposition and patient survey administration and report.
• Monitors and approves supply and equipment requisitions. Coordinates purchasing and inventory management of supplies and equipment.
• Continually assessing and recommending changes to program policies and procedures to best meet the program objectives.
• Coordinates and maintains the environment for assigned units in conjunction with the Safety Officer, including performance of fire and emergency drills, life safety checks, equipment checks, and other monitoring activities as outlined in the Environment of Care plan.
• Serves as liaison to external insurance and managed care organizations producing and providing information relating to assigned unit.
• Coordinates with the COO and CMO on patient care issues as requested/necessary.
• Attends meetings including designated Board meetings, management, and performance improvement meetings; attends external meetings, groups or events as appropriate to the scope of the position and/or as assigned by the Operations Director.
• Participates in community relations, marketing and fund-raising efforts of the organization as assigned. 
• Adheres to all MVHC’s policies and procedures fully cooperating with the MVHC Compliance Program.
