Our team of hosts, Takeout specialists, and servers work together to provide excellent hospitality to our guests in a fast-paced environment. Our Takeout specialists are a vital part of our day-to-day operations. In addition to management of our takeout station, successful applicants will be assisting hosts, take orders over the phone and bring positive and cheerful energy to our guests. Helping the rest of the front of house staff maintain smooth operation of the restaurant. As an HMR you will have to have a good understanding of the restaurant’s food offerings and the ability to maintain your cool and remain organized in fast paced scenarios so that guests receive their food accurately and efficiently.

As a Host you will have responsibilities such as:

• Maintain a clean and orderly takeout station.
• Bag or box food that is for to-go.
• Greet customers when entering or leaving the restaurant.
• Maintain a clean and tidy checkout area.
• Bring a spark of energy to every shift!
• Taking orders for takeout and adjusting orders to fit customer needs.

And have following required knowledges, skills, and ability:

• Ability to smile and communicate clearly with guests.
• Able to arrive at work on time and reliably.
• Ability to stand on your feet for a long time.
• Be able to answer the phone and take orders efficiently and with a positive attitude.

The Mustard Seed was started in 1978 in Missoula, Montana by a group of friends and family. Included in that group were sisters Betty and Nancy Tokumoto and Betty's husband, David Hall. Betty and Nancy grew up in Okinawa, Bangkok, and Hawaii and attended college in Oregon; so, they have a unique ability to blend the cooking styles of the Far East with the tastes of the Pacific Northwest. Our recipes were created or inspired by the Tokumoto sisters.
