$2,000.00 Bonus = $1,000 after 90 days and $1,000 after 1 year

Position Overview

The CNC Programmer is responsible for programming all CNC machines and assisting the Machine Shop Supervisor with task and project direction, problem solving, and completion specific to CNC machine tooling and programs. Demonstrates Mustad values, showing respect for and engagement with co-workers, especially as they contribute to a quality product and organization success.

Essential Job Functions (required duties and responsibilities)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Leads the CNC programming for Mustad USA, including training, coaching, monitoring, and providing feedback for improvement and problem resolution from the standpoint of CNC capabilities
  • Follows all safety and SOP regulations and procedures, including the Mustad Performance System (MPS)
  • Improve the CNC programs (CNC machines, EDM machine, etc) debugging old programs, rewriting old program and/or adjusting with new tools and speeds.
  • Run CNC machines and assist CNC operators in proper machine operation, following all safety, SOP and ISO standards, including Mustad Performance System (MPS)
  • Support/Prepares documents/reports as needed or requested within ERP software, PDM software, JobBOSS software (or similar) including inventory, KPIs, and other reports as needed by the Machine Shop
  • Performs any and all machinist duties including set ups, machining, and quality control checks as needed
  • Performs other duties as requested by management

Education, Experience, and Skills Requirements

  • Training and/or certification in CNC machine operation
  • 3 years Mastercam/Solidworks experience
  • 3 years CNC programming and operating experience including (3-Axis)
  • 1 year EDM set up, operating, and programming experience
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and principles
  • Working knowledge of standard inspection tools
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office platform
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to read, write and speak English

Desirable Skills/Attributes (preferred but not required)

  • CNC programming, including (5-Axis) experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and blueprint interpretation

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking
  • Ability to frequently stoop, kneel, bend, balance, reach above shoulders, crouch
  • Ability for frequent use of hands to feel, handle, touch, or manipulate and use foot/feet to operate machines
  • Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
  • Frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds

Work Environment

  • Factory setting with exposure to heat, humidity, dust fumes, gases, toxic/caustic chemicals, airborne particles, and to significantly loud noise
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts on line, as well as moving equipment throughout the factory
  • Mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which the company provides
