Doherty Career Solutions is partnering with a local Big Lake, MN company as they search for a Programmer to join the thriving team. Our client is growing and as a family-owned company offers stability, culture, and a competitive salary. CNC Programmers use CAD/CAM software to create nested programs for Homag/Weeke Wood CNC Routers. Creates, maintains, and updates CNC programs for existing catalog and new fixtures. Produces and Maintains precise Cut Bills. Works closely with designers to ensure proper design intent when creating part programs. Engages with shop floor personnel to quickly troubleshoot programming issues. This position is M-F and offers a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the timely creation of: CNC programs, Cut Bills, Shop floor work packets.
  • Maintains engineering standards on all shop floor releases.
  • Maintenance of standard process, procedures, and policies within the Engineering Department.
  • Reviews ERP system and fixture models to determine if they are accurate.
  • Analyzes drawings, specifications, and design data to calculate dimensions, tool selection, and materials.
  • Export nested drawings, single part programs, and material usage reports to correct server locations.
  • Checks automated machine tool paths.
  • Draw machine tool paths as needed.
  • Compiles data for server access and releases jobs to shop floor.
  • Basic understanding of cabinetry manufacturing techniques in a production facility required.

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Minimum of a High School diploma with 5 years related experience and/or a technical school degree with 2 years of related experience.
  • Familiarity with Cimtech software (RouterCIM, SolidCim, Advanced Nesting), desired but willing to train.
  • Autodesk Autocad required, minimum 3-5 years of experience.
  • Autodesk Inventor experience, desired but willing to train. (SolidWorks, ProE or other 3d design software experience will be considered.)
  • Machine programming experience required.
  • Capable of organizing and completing large tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
