Muskingum County Head Start is Hiring a Front Desk Receptionist Near Zanesville, OH

BASIC FUNCTION: Greet customers at front desk and field telephone calls. Maintain office equipment and general office supplies. Assist program staff in the dissemination and preparation of written materials and general office duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Six (6) months to one (1) year office related work experience preferred.

2. Presents self in a professional manner. Must be pleasant and upbeat at all times

3. Demonstrates a high level of organizational skills.

4. Proficient typing skills, familiar with Microsoft applications

5. Must Possesses computer skills

6. Has the ability to work accurately with figures.

7. Maintains an aptitude for accurate record keeping, reporting and writing.

8. Remains courteous and professional with children, parents, staff and community members at all times.

9. Show the ability to function effectively and appropriately with various community agencies, programs and professionals.

10. Possesses a sincere commitment to the philosophy of an early childhood preschool program.

11. Ability to understand and direct phone calls to the appropriate person to answer.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND FUNCTIONS: INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING, OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

1. Assist program staff with the recruitment process of the neediest eligible children.

2. Assist in the coordination of the Parent Involvement Volunteer Program.

3. Assist in preparing and disseminating all program training/meeting agendas and materials.

4. Assist in the dissemination of written information to staff, parents, and other agency personnel.

5. Prepare all documents, forms, or reports as requested by the program area managers.

6. Maintain documentation of all job duties and parent contacts.

7. Answer phones and provide a positive flow of communication within the program.

8. Direct all parent concerns/complaints to the Executive Director.

9. Maintain current equipment and supply inventory.

10. Develop, manage, and monitor the sign-out systems for all shared resources (camera, resource materials, etc.) and for the end of the year checklist of required reports from staff (inventory, purchase requests, etc.).

11. Respect the confidentiality of children, families, and staff members.

12. Dress appropriately for the job at all times. Avoid provocative clothing, as well as hats or shirts with sexual slogans, curse words, etc. Avoid loose or dangling jewelry that children could grab or become caught in equipment, or sharp objects or pins that could injure children. Wear footwear that minimizes the possibility of slips and falls. Wear clean clothes and practice good hygiene.

13. Read and adhere to all policies and procedures set forth in the Child Care Resources, Inc. Policies and Procedures Manual.

14. Manage all office operations regarding staff accessibility for mail and needed materials.

15. Other duties as assigned by the Accounting Assistant or Executive Director.

Pay: From $12.24 per hour
