    Middle School Summer Acceleration Teacher
    Position Summary:
    A Summer Acceleration Teacher will provide an instructional model designed around relationships, grade level standards, STEM, other innovative designs and partner with community organizations for off campus experiences.
    We will design the 6-weeks of instruction around student needs, teacher talents and community partnerships.
    Qualifications:
    • Active Teaching Certification
    • Successful experience working with children and youth.
    • Ability to organize lessons around project design, coordinate learning with community partners.
    • Interests in nutrition, health, fitness
    • Interest in outdoor activities
    • Interest in inquiry-based instruction
    • Friendly, Positive and Relational
    • Proficient in PBIS practices in the classroom.
    • Able to build long-term connections with kids.
    • Strong communicator with families
    • Curious about designing instruction around community resources connected to standards.
    • Proficient in content standard usage in lesson design.
    • Desire to implement STEM-designed instruction
    Performance Responsibilities:
    • Develop and design lessons around Project Based Learning
    • Coordinate with a community partner
    • Connect grade level content to community partner work
    • Collaborate and communicate with families.
    • Implement PBIS systems in the classroom
    • Communicate with Director
    • Connect and eat with students in a family lunch model
    • Implement safety protocols for the District
    • Collaborate with families around challenges and opportunities that may arise
    • Follow safety protocols for the District
    • Utilize on campus and community locations to enhance projects
    • Provide feedback to students on their progress and mastery of skills within projects.
    • Design STEM-based projects
    • Attend 10 hours of collaborative before program starts

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
    Terms of Employment:
    Pay between $20 and $30 an hour, for up to a total of 96 hours, including up to 25 hours of planning, with 10 hours before June 27. The remaining 15 hours allocated to times beyond contact with our kids.
    This is a temporary position. Hiring does not imply guaranteed employment or consideration for future positions.
