Position: Head Start All Day Classroom Associate- Ravenna (EduStaff)
Summary: The Classroom Associate supports the teacher in providing age and developmentally appropriate
learning experiences which enhance the school readiness of assigned pre-kindergarten children, ages
three and/or four. The Associate helps prepares and serves meals by following the USDA, CACFP,
and State of Michigan guidelines. The Classroom Associate gives support to the teacher and the
children. The Associate assists in daily planning and implementing program activities to meet the
Head Start Performance Standards. Associates work in the classroom all day Monday thru Friday.

Qualifications:

• Possession of one of the following credentials:

• A CDA in early childhood

• An Associate, Baccalaureate, or advanced degree in early childhood education ages 3-5

• Past experience in preschool environment preferred.

• The ability to work and communicate effectively with parents and young children,

Reports to: Early Childhood Director
Essential Functions:

• Assists Facilitator on the playground, loading children on the bus, in the classroom and on field trips.

• Carries out instruction and assessment in accordance with the curriculum.

• Promotes parent involvement and engages families in development of family partnership goals. Connects families with community services which promote self-sufficiency, addresses crises, and enhances school readiness.

• Maintains cleanliness of classroom, eating areas and food service equipment.

• Be knowledgeable of each child’s nutrition/health plan.

• Follow the health department food service guidelines.

• Works effectively as a member of the Early Childhood Center team to educate children, engage families, enhance school readiness, and provide for a safe, secure, and nurturing environment.

Starting Date: August 2022
Terms: 40 hours per week – Monday-Friday - Single coverage health benefits offered – EduStaff

Salary Range: $ 15.45
