POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Security Officer II will patrol assigned Museum space for the safety and security of people and property. In this position, the Security Officer II will perform various security duties according to established schedules and operating procedures. Duties may require: assisting with loading dock access or performing escorts of non-museum staff when required; taking appropriate action in emergency situations such as emergency evacuations, or any illegal or unsafe condition regarding persons or property on Museum premises; providing superior customer service to staff and visitors; searching bags/parcels in accordance with procedures; notifying the Command Center of your location throughout the building and of any time you are unavailable for dispatch. Information on the security system, policy and/or procedures remains confidential information not to be shared. These patrols may require the officer to be highly mobile and able to climb steep stairs or traverse obstacles within some spaces.

REQUIREMENTS

Must have strong customer service and interpersonal skills, and physically able to perform duties as described above. Physical requirements include sitting, standing and walking for long periods of time. Must possess basic computer user skills.

WAGE AND SHIFT INFORMATION

Full-Time, 40 hours per week (full-time, days hours)

Thurs - Mon, 1st Shift: 9:00 am - 5:40 pm

Mon - Fri, 1st Shift: 7:30 am to 4:10 pm

Fri - Tues, 3rd Shift: 12:00 am to 8:40 am

Starting wage: $18.50 per hour (not including shift differential for 2nd shift and 3rd shift)
