Overview:
Under the direction of the Director of Public Programs, the Senior Programmer of Film and is responsible for leading a renowned and dynamic cinema program that engages the broad range of the MFA’s visitors. The Senior Programmer performs diverse duties related to planning, coordinating, and promoting richly varied and ambitious film programs at the Museum.
The Senior Programmer will research, select, locate and book film programs; book guest artists such as directors, critics and actors; and work closely with the local film community and local area partners in the screening of major film festivals. The Senior Programmer will be expected to attend key screenings, introduce guests and manage pertinent q&s. The Senior Programmer will supervise volunteers and interns within the MFA Film program to ensure prompt ordering, receipt and return of films etc. and payment of invoices. The Senior Programmer will work closely with colleagues across the Museum, particularly in visual art, music, and lectures and courses, in order to identify and explore exciting possibilities for integrated programming.
The Senior Programmer will also liaise closely with Visitor and Member Services on programming, ticketing details and special event staffing. Throughout the year, the Senior Programmer monitors income and expenses and makes income and expense projections. Working closely with Marketing and Creative Services, the Senior Programmer designs and implements a promotional plan for the film program and oversees the writing and submitting of copy for all film publications.

Full-Time Salary, 35 hours per week
$70,000 - 80,000
