Museum of Fine Arts is Hiring a Creative Coordinator Near Boston, MA

Reporting to the Creative Director, the Creative Coordinator provides diversified administrative and creative support primarily to the Creative Director, design team, and Communications group with approval of Creative Director. 

As part of the design team, the Creative Coordinator collaborates with colleagues in Marketing and Communications, Membership, LCE, Curatorial, IT, Exhibition Design, and Development to help the design team produce engaging print, digital, and multimedia materials. The Creative Coordinator facilitates intake of print and digital requests and initiates workflow to the rest of the Communications team.

Essential functions: 

  • Project coordination 
    1. intake and process requests for all creative projects 
    2. compile materials for creative projects, following up with clients and preparing for production 
    3. create and distribute production schedules for projects accounting for complexity and scope, resources, workload, and design and production time 
    4. act as administrator for the Museum’s Basecamp account
  • Administrative
    1. generate and maintain financial reports to track project and operational expenses and process invoices in an accurate and timely manner
    2. Assist the Creative Director’s management of the departmental budget 
    3. serve as the administrative point person and follow up on routine inquiries for information and materials 
  • Photography management
    1. maintain archive of photographic assets for the department, including release forms and credit/caption information
    2. manage photo and video processes for the department working with internal and external photographers and coordinating with other departments for photographic needs
    3. conduct photographic research 
    4. format and review program and exhibition images for mfa.org 
    5. Assist Creative Director in planning and executing photoshoots 
    6. coordinate exhibition/ content top images from start to finish for Marketing and Communications, including curatorial selection (to be reviewed/approved by Creative Director), coordination with R/L to ensure rights have been cleared and metadata is updated, and distribution of all images to communications areas (mfa.org, social media, advertising, media relations).

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree, along with two to three years of experience in a fast-paced working environment
  • superb organizational and follow-through skills; the ability to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and high standards
  • excellent writing and verbal skills
  • strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with internal and external contacts at all levels
  • must be at ease performing quantitative tasks, including tracking budget and departmental expenditures
  • knowledge of digital workflow, print production, and project management systems (Basecamp) a plus
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office software; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and Drupal CMS desirable; familiarity with collections database software (TMS or similar) desirable; must have a working knowledge of design and photography and production processes for print and digital

Salary Range:

Full-Time Salary, 35 hours per week

Salary: $46,000 - $50,000
