Job Description
A global leader in maritime solutions is looking for a Corporate Communications and Events Specialist to oversee both external and internal communications. The ideal candidate possesses strong interpersonal skills, comprehensive experience in corporate communications, and a background in event management.
Salary: $75,000
Location: Houston, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire-Onsite

Responsibilities:
  • Support the company's interface with media alongside Incident Communication Management agency.
  • Support the team with crafting and localizing key messages as part of communications plans, key initiatives, and change management programs.
  • Internal event management of townhalls, media training, photoshoots etc.
  • External event management - organize customer and stakeholder events, sponsored events, and trade shows, including required communications support such as development of communications content and production of communications packs and materials.
  • Track customer interface and maintenance of customer contacts database, including interface with key stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Lead and support the development, design, and production of collaterals, including promotional items and event materials.
  • Develop content and support content production for the various global and local communications channels including internet, intranet, and print materials in a timely and effective manner.
  • Manage project timelines, and review and continuously improve various collaterals as agreed with stakeholders as guided by internal processes.
  • Ensure all company brand usage complies with ID guidelines.
  • Fulfil requests on communications support requirements, both internal and external, locally, and globally.
  • Support global corporate communications in all communications matters relevant for Americas to ensure the smooth operation of the function and full delivery of communications needs to key stakeholders.
  • Drive and execute the local CSR projects and scholarship program aligned with globally approved plans.
  • Comply with Company's policies and Code of Conduct and Business Ethics.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Communications, English, Journalism, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Experience in Internal and External communications: Employee communications, Crisis communications, PR / media, local community, web content development, and management.
  • Experience in event management:company and customer sponsored events.
  • Editorial management and production, speaks well, speech / content / news / corporate writing, events management, corporate visual identity, change management, and IT software - Canva, SharePoint, WordPress, SAP/Coupa
  • Able to multitask and manage tight deadlines.
  • Able to work well under pressure and flexible to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Exposure to project management
  • Independent and responsible; comfortable with remote team and management
  • Exposure to working in diverse cultures and time zones is a plus.
  • Canva, WordPress, and SharePoint experience is needed.
