Job Title: Math Interventionist

(Valid Arizona Teaching Certification Required at the time of applying)

Job Summary:

The Math Interventionist plays a crucial role in supporting students' mathematical development by providing targeted interventions to address gaps in understanding and promote mathematical proficiency. This position involves working closely with students, teachers, and administrators to identify areas of need, design intervention strategies, and monitor progress toward mathematical goals. The Math Interventionist utilizes various instructional methods and resources to engage students and facilitate their growth in mathematical concepts and skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess student mathematical abilities through diagnostic assessments and observations to identify areas of difficulty and individual learning needs.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, instructional specialists, and administrators to develop intervention plans tailored to meet the specific needs of students.
  • Provide small-group or one-on-one instruction to students, delivering targeted interventions aimed at addressing gaps in understanding and promoting mathematical mastery.
  • Develop and implement engaging instructional activities and materials that align with students' learning objectives and support their progress in mathematics.
  • Monitor student progress regularly through formative assessments, progress monitoring tools, and data analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and make adjustments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of student interventions, progress, and achievement data, and communicate this information effectively to stakeholders, including teachers, parents, and administrators.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, resources, and instructional strategies for supporting students' mathematical growth.
  • Stay informed about current research, trends, and best practices in mathematics education and intervention strategies to continuously improve instructional practices.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to mathematics instruction and intervention.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel motivated, empowered, and confident in their mathematical abilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid Arizona teaching certification/license.
  • Experience in teaching mathematics at the elementary, middle, or high school level.
  • Demonstrated expertise in understanding and teaching mathematical concepts and skills.
  • Knowledge of assessment techniques and data analysis methods to inform instructional decision-making.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and provide targeted interventions to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed in mathematics.
  • Ability to adapt to changing educational environments and implement innovative instructional approaches.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development in the field of mathematics education.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,000.00 - $65,000.00 per hour
