This recruitment will be used to fill a Pharmacy Technician role at our Westside Pharmacy Clinic.

As a newly hired Pharmacy Technician, you will receive a one-time New Hire Recruitment and Retention Incentive payment of $1,500 on your first paycheck. The incentive will be prorated based on the position's FTE status.

The Westside Pharmacy Technician will work under the supervision of pharmacists to support outpatient pharmacy operations according to federal and state laws and rules.
As the Westside Pharmacy Technician, you will:
  • Provide exceptional and timely customer service including gathering patient information needed to prepare prescriptions, answering phones, and completing point of sale transactions.
  • Perform online billing and resolve third-party claims issues.
  • Prepare prescriptions by counting, pouring, or mixing medications and labeling containers.
  • Complete reports, close out batches at the end of each shift, and prepare daily deposits.
  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering, receiving and stocking drugs and supplies, checking stock for out-dated medications, processing expired medications for return to a reverse distributor, and monitoring refrigerated items for proper temperature.
  • Complete requested reports and documentation.
  • Perform related duties as instructed or required.

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills*:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be as noted below. All non-traditional education, training and experience will be evaluated.
Education/Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade; AND
Experience: Minimum of 6 months in retail pharmacy or equivalent experience.
Required License(s)/Certification(s):
  • Currently licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in good standing by the
    Oregon Board of Pharmacy
    .
Preferred Qualifications/ Transferable Skills*:
  • Additional specialized training in pharmacy or a related field is desirable.
  • Experience working in a retail pharmacy setting.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Cultural Competencies: The position requires the knowledge and understanding of culture, traditions, attitudes, beliefs, social experience and history of those experiencing oppression and barriers to opportunity. This position must demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of the origins and results of the disparities experienced by individuals and families related to racism and social-economic injustices.
