POSITION PURPOSE:
This role is responsible for designing, revising, programming, and troubleshooting machine control systems for Forpak’s current equipment line and new innovations, including robotics. This position works directly with the Forpak design team and the shop, providing guidance and backup to field technicians, going on installations and service calls when required, and troubleshooting with customers via phone.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION REQUIRED: Technical degree or equivalent work experience.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Advanced understanding of software, networks, Allen-Bradley products and software, proficient with AutoCAD Electrical, and a higher knowledge of Microsoft products - Outlook, Excel, Word, and Access, and have a general understanding of NFPA 79 and OSHA guidelines.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 5 years’ relevant work experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Lift up to 30 pounds.
LANGUAGE ABILITY: Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
TRAVEL: Able to travel 20% to off-site locations for service and installations.
COMMUNICATION: Able to answer questions during evenings and weekends with service techs and customers, as needed.
